Paul emphasizes that the church is supposed to be of one spirit (1 Cor 12). Though the church may have many members and individuals with different abilities, all should be of the same spirit, that is the spirit of God. All should be united in following Jesus as master and king.
If we want to be united, we must share the same spirit, lest we become divided among ourselves. Sharing the same spirit means having the same focus, being motivated towards the same goal.
