šŸ•Šļø Be Spiritual! (1Ā CorinthiansĀ 2)

Hope you’ve been enjoying the sunshine outdoors! šŸŒ„ļøšŸŒ¤ļøā˜€ļø

In 1 Cor 2, Paul tells the church that they ought to be spiritual! To be spiritual is to resonate with God’s spirit, to see things as God sees, to feel for the things He feels. In contrast, a person who is not in tune with God’s spirit is called a ā€œnaturalā€ man. While being ā€œnattyā€ may be a good thing at the gym, in Paul’s letter, the ā€œnaturalā€ person doesn’t understand nor value spiritual things, for example, reading the Bible.

How do we receive God’s spirit? God’s spirit, also known as the holy spirit, is given to us at baptism (Acts 2:38). We then need to grow and mature in order to understand and resonate deeper with the spirit of God, that we may truly be wise. Beyond the individual person, when the spirit of God moves in His people aka the church, wonderful things begin to happen. Things which no eye has seen šŸ‘€, nor ear heard šŸ‘‚, nor the heart of man imagined ā¤ļø, what God has prepared for those who love Him.
