šŸž Sin in the Church (1Ā CorinthiansĀ 5)

ā€˜Dough’ not underestimate sin! In 1 Cor 5, we see that in the Corinthian church there was a person who committed a sin and didn’t feel bad about it or repent from it. The people in the church were even proud of the fact that they accepted something like that.

Even though Paul was not there, he told them to cast this man out. Not that Paul didn’t care about this person, but he did so in order that there may be a chance that the person could still be saved.

Paul compares sin to leaven. Just like how a little leaven leavens the whole lump, a little sin can spread and corrupts the whole church.

Have you ever been in a situation like this, where you have done something wrong and didn’t feel bad about it, and there were people that said it’s okay and were proud that they know you? On the other hand, have friends left you because of your wrongdoing? Sin can get in the way of building relationships with people, and especially with God. Let’s strive to not let sin get in the way of our relationship with God!
