šŸ– To Eat or Not To Eat (1Ā CorinthiansĀ 8)

Knowledge ā€œpuffs upā€ šŸž but love ā€œbuilds upā€ 🧱

Eating food that had been offered to idols is one of the issues that the Corinthian church had mentioned to Paul, and which Paul now addresses in his letter (1 Cor 8). While it may be so that one can eat such food with a clear conscience—knowing that idols are false and that only God is true—doing so may potentially cause others to stumble. Paul thus urges those in the church to be considerate of their brethren and to not use their rights in a way that ruins those whom they are meant to love.

How does your behavior and actions affect others? Would you be okay with your younger sibling, or friend who looks up to you, finding out what you are doing and imitating you?

Love is what enables us to give up our rights for the sake of others. Love is what gives us the power to lay down our own life so that others may have life. May you experience God’s transforming love in your own life today! ā¤šŸ˜šŸ’Ŗ
