💰 The Rich Young Ruler (Mark 10:17-31)

What do you think about money? 💸🤔

A rich young man asked Jesus what he should do to inherit eternal life (Mark 10:17-31). When Jesus answered him, telling him to sell all his possessions, give it away, and follow him, instead of doing that, the man was saddened and walked away. 🚶

Instead of choosing and following Jesus, the rich young man decided to cling on to his earthly riches and possessions. But what about us? Are we willing to drop everything and follow Jesus? Or is there something hindering us from following him? Has money or something else become our security in life? 🤑

To inherit eternal life means to be under the kingship of God, to build up a relationship with God. Often we find ourselves using a “Do-s and Don’t-s” religious checklist, to see if we satisfy the requirements to “enter” God’s kingdom when instead it’s all about building up our relationship with God. This was Jesus’s concern.

When we build up our relationship with God, He will provide for us and protect us, even during times of persecution. The question is whether we want to trust and have faith in God or not. May we build up this relationship with Him through Christ Jesus! 🙌
