In 1 Cor 2, Paul tells the church that they ought to be spiritual! To be spiritual is to resonate with Godās spirit, to see things as God sees, to feel for the things He feels. In contrast, a person who is not in tune with Godās spirit is called a ānaturalā man. While being ānattyā may be a good thing at the gym, in Paulās letter, the ānaturalā person doesnāt understand nor value spiritual things, for example, reading the Bible.
How do we receive Godās spirit? Godās spirit, also known as the holy spirit, is given to us at baptism (Acts 2:38). We then need to grow and mature in order to understand and resonate deeper with the spirit of God, that we may truly be wise. Beyond the individual person, when the spirit of God moves in His people aka the church, wonderful things begin to happen. Things which no eye has seen š, nor ear heard š, nor the heart of man imagined ā¤ļø, what God has prepared for those who love Him.
