What is your motivation in life?
Abraham and his nephew, Lot, once lived together in harmony until they amassed much possessions that upset their herdsmen, causing the herdsmen to begin to quarrel among themselves (Genesis 13). In order to prevent strife between himself and his nephew, Abraham let Lot choose where to go while he would go in the opposite direction. Lot decided to choose the land which was comfortable to live in even though it was also filled with evil.
What about us? When we seek after God’s blessings, do we do it in our own way? We may have God in mind, and we may want God’s blessings, but often times we want to be blessed according to what we want, similar to Lot.
May we have faith in God and not rely on our own way of doing things!
