đŸ¥º Hope in the Midst of Decline (Genesis 4:17-5:32)

Was there hope after the events of Cain killing Abel? Yes! As we had seen last week, there were two lineages from Adam—Cain’s descendants and Seth’s descendants (Genesis 4:17-5:32). Adam and Eve had another son, Seth, and it was through Seth’s line that we saw there was still hope for man to repent.

Meanwhile, Cain had repented from his sin and had God in mind as he fathered Enoch. However, what had happened to his line? His descendants grew colder to God, not having God in mind at all. From it, we saw that history is repeating itself once more…

Through Adam and Seth’s line, each descendent had meaning to their names. Those names spelt something out and we saw that God gave 969 years for man to repent from their sins.
