🌈 God’s Covenant (Genesis 9)

When was the last time you saw a rainbow? 🌈 Did you know that the rainbow is a sign of the covenant that God made with mankind and every living creature on earth?

Last week, we saw how God initiated a covenant with Noah after the flood, that never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth (Genesis 9). A covenant is like a contract, an agreement that involves two parties; but unlike contracts in the world, which are bound by law, covenants in the Bible are bound by God. God made this covenant with Noah because of Noah’s faithfulness in carrying out His instructions. The whole Bible itself is a covenant as well, where God is initiating to establish a relationship with man.

Near the end of Noah’s life, due to negligence, man falls short of the glory of God again, which results in tragedy and a curse. We must always keep on the alert and be careful of our speech and conduct so that we will not enable others to do wrong out of our negligence.
