🕶 Healing of Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52)

Do you know what you are looking for? 😎

Bartimaeus was a blind beggar, who when he heard that Jesus was passing by, began to cry out aloud for Jesus (Mark 10:46-52). When Jesus finally called him to come near, he jumped up, throwing aside his cloak, and came to Jesus. Even before his sight was healed, Bartimaeus sprang up at the opportunity and left behind his old way of life.

When it comes to opportunities in this world, we are constantly working hard to grab hold of them. 😱 We look out for good deals for thing we want to buy. We try our best to pursue academic and career opportunities, to not miss out the optimal future. There are many things we have a fear of missing out on, and we make sure to grab hold of those opportunities whenever they come. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

But what about for the opportunities that truly matter? Do we recognize when the true once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes our way? 👀

Bartimaeus knew that Jesus was the chosen one of God, who was able not just to heal his sight, but also to save his life. Because of this, once he found Jesus, he followed him.

What do we want from God? Do we know what God is truly like and want what he wants for us? Or do we just want God to fit into what we want?
