What happens after you die?
Jesus taught that one day all of us who have died will rise again (Mark 12:18-27). Understandably, there were those who doubted him on this and questioned the logic of it. For example, if a person was remarried after the death of a spouse, in the day of resurrection, who would they be actually married to?
Jesus remarked that the reason for such questions is because we do not understand that in the day of resurrection, we will be different than how we are now. Our understanding of God’s power and designs are lacking, limited by our perceptions of the current world we are in.
But perhaps that is for the future, what does it matter for us today?
Well, are you currently alive or dead? What is your goal in life? What kind of life are you living? Do you find yourself full of life, overflowing to overcome every challenge you face, to achieve meaningful things that are worth living for? Or do you find yourself drained, pulled in every other direction, deep down feeling empty despite everything you try to fill your life with?
If God is real, he is a God who gives life. His resurrection power is a reality we can experience even today. The path to experiencing that is what Jesus is trying to show us.
