In Christ, there is hope. š
When the women went to the tomb early on Sunday morning, they were expecting to be able to see Jesusās body one last time and give his body the proper burial treatment. They were just doing what they believed was the right thing to do, out of love for their dear teacher and friend. They were not expecting to see any miracles. Yet, it is they who were the first ones to discover that Jesus is alive! (Mark 16)
How do you follow God? What is your motivation for the choices you make when you āfollow Godās leadingā?
Perhaps you expect to see wonders and miracles, or amazing things that God will do. There is nothing wrong with thatāwe should want to see God working. But how often in the pursuit of that, we make choices based on our expectations of what God will do? Maybe God will do something spectacular there, so we will go there. Maybe God will save that particular person, so we go to that person more. If we canāt see God doing things there, we donāt go. We choose based on whether we think we will experience God in those places and activities.
Like those women, we need to learn to faithfully do what is right and what is loving, even when it may seem like a futile thing to do. After all, it is God who is working. As long as we love like Jesus loves, following his example and instructions, there is hope.
