🌟 Being Transfigured (Mark 9:1-13)

What is prayer? And what does it mean to see?

In Mark 9:1-13 we looked at how Jesus appeared to some of his disciples in a way that was radiant, bright, and left them at a loss for words.

But why did Jesus take Peter, James, and John up the mountain in the first place? Not just to see himself in a way they haven’t before, but it was to pray. It was not just to see in the spirit but to also engage in ā€œspiritual activityā€. If all you do is see something and never engage or take action in it, then it doesn’t help you at all. You must come before God and ask him what is His will so that you may align your will with His.

Also what does it mean to see? You may be able to see, but can you see clearly? Can you see the whole picture? Do we see the value in suffering? We naturally think that suffering is bad, who really wants to suffer. But Jesus teaches that suffering leads to life. If you cannot see this, you can make many sacrifices that would be meaningless.

Let’s all strive to see more clearly what God is trying to tell us, and be more active spiritually, aligning our will with God’s will.
