🚦 Jesus Starts His Ministry (Matthew 4:12-25)

Growing up, I often struggled with understanding Jesus’s sayings.

Why is it good to be poor? Why should I love those who hurt me? How is it possible to keep forgiving someone who keeps doing wrong to me?

In Matthew 4:12-25, Jesus begins his ministry with the word μετανοέω, usually translated as ā€œrepentā€, but which literally means ā€œto change one’s mindā€.

I don’t like to love people who don’t love me back. My thought is that what I have is limited, suffering should be avoided, and that if I am too generous, I will lose everything.

But Jesus thinks differently.

And as I’ve started to follow him, I’ve begun to understand where he’s coming from, and how God can really transform my life when I learn to see things the way Jesus sees.

I hope you can join on this journey!
