Last week we looked at Matthew 5:4:
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
The mourning that is described here is to deal with sin, that should lead to repentance.
As I was reflecting on this, I thought back to a time when I came before God mourning my sin and I could feel God’s presence comforting me. Remembering this, it made me understand how God comforts us. It’s not just Him standing by our side but I could feel His embrace around me comforting me during the whole time.
Mourning is unavoidable. We will all face mourning no matter what, but it is in the face of mourning what we chose to do. We must have that change of heart and be determined to stay away from sin, and pursuing righteousness, you will find true joy.
